In a post-apocalyptic world, Eli, a lonely man, watch over a book containing the knowledge that can redeem human society.
Eli works for 30 years, since the "great flash, the explosion of bombs. He had a voice (God) who dictated to him on a quest: to send a people to the west, the last copy of the Bible.
He crosses his path a man, Carnegie. Carnegie runs a village and takes its power from the control of drinking water. As Eli, he knew the world before the flash and knows the power of religion. It therefore seeks to put his hand on a Bible, in order to impose on all men become uncivilized and thus extend its power.
